Information & Referral
One of CHOICE’s core functions is to connect people to existing housing programs and services, and to help them access housing resources in the community. CHOICE volunteers spend many hours helping individuals find for accessible apartments, learn about down payment assistance programs, get on a housing subsidy waiting list, look for sources of funding for home modifications, obtain an affordable rental unit, and locate contractors who have accessible design experience. Now, individuals can go to CHOICE’s Information & Referral Webpage and get detailed information about specific housing programs. services and information for Northern Virginians with disabilities. Begin by clicking on a general issue such as “Renting a Home” or “Making your Home Accessible” and then scroll through the specific topics until you hit the one you want. Click on the topic and a document will appear providing you with detailed information. NOTE: You will need Adobe Acrobat reader to access these files.
